Week 9: Alpha Prototype/ Play Test

This week our team focuses on the completing the alpha prototype as well as the play testing. In this week the team completed the programming for the combo and dodging system since these are some of the main components of our combat system. For the environment and the level design, we use the model we completed last week and added in the box colliders as well as do some internal test with the game to make sure the level is playable. For the play test session, we completed a total of 5 play test with different player types.

My contribution this week This week my primary objective is to complete the level design documents with another group member. Since I modeled and designed the whole level for the alpha prototype, so I am quite familiar with the level layout and the mechanics within the level. I also completed most part of the document with the different diagrams. For the alpha level in unity, through the internal testing we found out some part of the game is not passable by the player, so I had to further edit the level to make sure the player is able to pass through the level especially on the platforms. After the level is fixed, I helped out the programmer with the placement of the enemies. the For the play test, I participated in helping the tester understand our game with the controls, the level, and the platforms.

For next week, I will be focusing on building the assets for the future level where it features a medieval city environment. I also will start doing some level design with one of the group members and make sure the all of the mechanics are within the level.
